OUR TEAM APPROACH

At Hematology & Oncology Consultants, P.C., our shared practice is organized to provide you with the best possible care, whether you are seen in the hospital or in the office. At any given time, you will find one of our physicians and a physician assistant (PA) in the Omaha office; one physician in the Council Bluffs and Nebraska Medical Center offices; one physician performing inpatient hospital visits in the Omaha metro area; and one physician and our nurse practitioner at our rural Nebraska and Iowa clinic facilities. Every week we rotate the schedule so that each of us becomes familiar with you and every aspect of your treatment. We meet together as a team on a regular basis to discuss the status of our patients under active treatment. In this way, our patients will receive the benefit of a collective opinion and advice from all members of the team. We believe this is an excellent way to provide the best and latest treatment options for our patients.

You probably will not see the same physician on each visit, but that is one of the benefits of a shared practice, as you will receive the opinions of several specialists working together to create the best treatment plan for you. If, however, you would like to see the same physician in the office each time, we will make every effort to accommodate this request while adhering to your treatment schedule.

A physician is always on call and may be reached after hours and on weekends/holidays by calling our answering service at 402-231-1045 for all locations except Norfolk. Patients seen in our Norfolk location should call 402-371-2760. The operator will page us, and we will return your call as soon as possible. Questions or concerns during business hours may be directed to the Hematology & Oncology Consultants, P.C., clinic where you are seen.
